Track Inspector

As a Track Inspector, you will be required to conduct scheduled patrols, as well as general and detailed inspections of the railway infrastructure section in accordance with the National Code of Practice, to ensure the safe passage of trains. This role has a great deal of autonomy and will be well suited to someone who enjoys planning and prioritising their own day. Safety is ORA’s number one priority and we are seeking candidates that want to contribute to our already strong safety culture.


You will also be required to enter results of inspections and measurements into the Asset Management System and provide prompt first responses to Train Incident Reports on site as necessary. Ideally, the candidate will reside in Whyalla. This role will be well suited to someone who enjoys planning and prioritising their own day.



To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter who demonstrates great initiative, excellent time management and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and a flexible can-do attitude.



  • Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure including the module Track Examination.
  • The ability to demonstrate that you have had experience/held a role in track inspection.
